Marcilio Browne (Brawzinho)

Most kids start learning to walk at around one year old and then it’s something that becomes second nature – you don’t even have to think about it, right? Having begun windsurfing at the very young age of 4, windsurfing has obviously become second nature to Marcilio Browne. I have no idea if, when he sails, he has to think too much about what he’s doing but whatever’s going on inside when he’s sailing he makes it look effortless and totally instinctive … kind of like walking on water!

Brawzinho turned pro at 12 and went onto win his first PWA event at 16 and in 2007, at only 18 years old, he became freestyle world champion. He is one of the latest additions to the Goya team and now concentrates primarily on wave sailing and has been in some of the recent great windsurfing movies such as Four Dimensions and Minds Wide Open.
